Cochran – Robert Smith, age 74, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, in Bryant Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Robert, a lifelong resident of Cochran, was the son of the late Reubin and Mary Ruth Evans Smith. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Aubrey Smith, Charles Smith and Judy Ann Smith Davis and his nephew Shawn T. Carr. Robert was retired from Middle Georgia College and loved hot rods, cars and especially Camaros. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors are his brother, Melvin Smith of Cochran; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Dwaine Barlow of Cochran; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Jones, Dawn (Jimmy) Garner, Cory (Frankie) Smith and Scott (Bonnie) Carr; great nephew, Joshua Jones.

The family will greet friends after the burial Saturday at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
