Dublin – Ronald Atkinson, age 67, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, in Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. The family will greet friends for 1:00 P.M. until time for the service Sunday at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Ronald, born in Statesboro, had lived in Cochran before moving to Dublin in 1980. He was the son of the late Dr. James and Peggy Dunn Atkinson. He was an electrician with IBEW 1316, a 1976 graduate of Cochran High School, where he played tennis. Ronald loved fishing, hunting, the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldawgs and NASCAR. He was a member of Dudley Wesleyan Church.

Survivors are his wife, Beth King Atkinson of Dublin; his children, Nicholas "Hank" (Amy) Atkinson of Dublin and Monika (Daniel) White of Covington; his grandchildren, Sahara, Maverick, Steeley, Scotlyn, McCoy, Magnolia Dove, Willow Ruth, Titus Hagan, Zoe, J.D. Kimber and Maren; great grandchild, Zeke; his brother, Randy (Neysa) Atkinson of Cochran; several cousins.
