Eastman – Ronald "Goddy" Roland, age 86, died Monday, March 2, 2020, at Dodge County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 5, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private at Pleasant Olive Cemetery in Chester.

Ronald, or "Goddy" as he was known, was a lifelong resident of Dodge County. He was the son of the late R.C. and Ida Lee Passmore Roland. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ronda Belflower; son, Randall "Randy" Roland; sister, Venarie Shannon; brother, Billy Roland and great grandson Kayden Lucas. He was the owner-operator of Roland Garage in Chester and had worked as a supervisor for the Dodge County Road Department. "Goddy" was a fun-loving person who never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, boating (especially in his airboat) and loved being outdoors.

Survivors are his wife, Mae Roland of Eastman; granddaughter, Kacie (Daniel) Lucas of Cochran; great granddaughter, Emma Kate Lucas of Cochran; son-in-law Mike Belflower of Roddy; daughter-in-law Sheryl Roland of Chester; brothers, Dudley (Diane) Roland of Warner Robins and Jimmy (Patsy) Roland of Chester; sisters, Syble Pruitt of Chester and Hazel Bennett of Cochran; sister-in-law, Ann Roland of Chester; brother-in-law Oscar Shannon of Chester; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 595 Roddy Highway, Eastman and will greet friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home.
