Cochran – Rory James Wood, Jr., age 34, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Rory was born on April 27, 1989, in Hawkinsville. He spent most of his life in Hawkinsville before moving to Cochran. He had worked for Middle Georgia Signs and was a truck driver for RAD Contracting. Rory was a jokester who never met a stranger. He was a mason in the Cochran Masonic Lodge. He loved his family and he loved working on trucks.

He is survived by his son, Rory James Wood, III, of Cochran; his Father, Rory James Wood, Sr. of Cochran; his mother, Teresa Sheffield of Eastman; his sister, Dixie Dawn "D. D." (Chris) Thigpen of Cochran; his half-brother, D.J. Sheffield; his half-sister, Mollie Sheffield; his nieces, Gracie and Savannah; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family is at the residence of D.D. and Chris Thigpen, 785 GA-26E, in Cochran.
