Cochran – Ruby Faulk Abney, age 82, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026, in Green Meadows Personal Care Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 1, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M, until time for the service Monday at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ruby was born and had lived all of her life in Cochran. She was the daughter of the late Herschel and Mary Johnson Faulk and the wife of the late Carl Monroe Abney. Ruby was a homemaker, enjoyed painting and collecting "Gone with the Wind" memorabilia. She attended Evergreen Baptist Church and the Church of Christ.

Survivors are her children, Carla (Butch) Hon and Dawn (John) Jacobs all of Cochran; her grandchildren, T.J. (Brandi) LeGuin, Jessie (Tony) Robinson, Brittanie (Auston) Davis, Dr. Cameron (Dr. Katie) Garvin and Ethan Hon; her great grandchildren, Trey Wilson, Cook LeGuin, Reese Garvin, Calder Garvin, Mathews Monroe Garvin, Abram Miller and Isaac Hon; her sister, Opal F. Hobbs of Macon; several nieces and nephews.
