Gracewood – Russell T. "Rusty" Wilkerson, age 68, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, in Augusta University Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rogers-Harrell Cemetery in Dodge County.

Rusty, born in Eastman, had lived in Gracewood State School and Hospital since he was 10 years old. He was the son of the late Oscar and Jean Wilkerson and was preceded in death by his grandmother Ida Mae Peacock.

Survivors are his brother, Tommy (Roger) Wilkerson of Nashville, TN; his sisters, Patty Wilkerson of Eastman, Teresa Kelly of Sylvester, Brenda Muncy of Montana and Valorie Gathings of Rentz; several nieces and nephews.

The family gives a heartfelt thank you to Gracewood for the wonderful care of Rusty for all these years.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M until time for the service Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
