Cochran – S.E. "Rabbit" Mullis, age 70, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, in the Bleckley Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held Friday, February 17, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Rabbit was born on September 19, 1952 in Hawkinsville. He was the son of the late Stewart and Thelma Brewer Mullis and was preceded in death by an infant brother. Rabbit was a lifelong resident of Cochran. He graduated from Cochran High School in 1971. On April 7, 1978, he married the love of his life, Ms. Teresa Woodard. He was retired from Mondi Bags USA in Eastman, where he worked for 30 years. Rabbit was an avid ballplayer for 30 years. He was a coach at the Bleckley County Recreation Department. He also umpired for 20 years and worked on the "chain gang" for Bleckley County Royals football games. He was a diehard Georgia Tech, Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees fan. He always loved being at a ballfield, any ballfield. Whether it was watching his girls, his nieces and nephews or his grandson. He loved teaching and playing softball with both of his daughters. His biggest joy was watching his grandson, Curry Long, play baseball. He never missed a practice or a ballgame. He was Curry's best friend. Rabbit loved his entire family and loved being around them.

Survivors are his wife, Teresa Mullis, his daughters, Erica Mullis Smith (Shawn) and Brittney Mullis (Jonathan); his grandchildren, Curry Long and Gracee Turner; his siblings, Edward Mullis (Patty), Gwen Sasser (Rick) and Darlene Mullis; his Sisters-in-law, Dell Mullis (Joey), Sandra Sheffield (Ronnie); his brothers-in-law, Alvis Woodard (Cindy), Terry Woodard, Lee Woodard and Earl Woodard; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that he loved as his own.

The family is at 112 Southside Drive and will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Friday at Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church.
