Obituary

Shelby "Jean" Passmore, 78, of Hawkinsville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease at her residence under the care of Encompass Hospice. Memorial services will be private.

Jean was born on May 20, 1942, in Greenville, South Carolina, to the late Thomas Everett and Thelma Louise Williams Hudson. She had lived in Georgia since 1962.  Jean retired from Houston County Board of Commissioners in Perry after 24 years of dedicated service. She cherished time spent with her husband, children and extended family. She was a member of the Limestone Baptist Church in Cochran, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother in law, Richard Babb and son-in-law, William David Harris.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Joe Passmore, Jr. of Hawkinsville, Georgia; daughter, Tammi Harris of Miramar, Florida; Tonja (Mike) Stevens of Dacula, Georgia; step son, Gene Passmore of Hawkinsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Chelsea Tyner of Hawkinsville, Georgia; Zachary Tyner of Atlanta, Georgia; Cailey (Daniel) Loudermilk of Dacula, Georgia; great-granddaughters, Colleen Nicole Tyner of Hawkinsville, Georgia; Daisey Jean Loudermilk of Dacula, Georgia; sister; Lib Babb of Greenville, South Carolina; niece and Nephew, Cindy (Mark) Vaughn of Taylors, South Carolina; Tony (Becky) Friddle of Charlotte, North Carolina; caregiver, Raina Newman of Hawkinsville, GA.

The family wishes to thank Encompass Hospice for the compassion and care during this time. A special thanks to our nurse Patty Thomson, caregiver Dani Grant, and liaison Shirley Platt.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in her honor.
