Cochran – Shelia Helms, age 57, died Monday, June 15, 2020, in Navicent Health in Macon. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Born in Cochran, Mrs. Helms was preceded in death by her mother Mrs. Shirley Smith Hatfield and her infant brother "Junior".  She was a 1981 graduate of Bleckley County High School and attended Middle Georgia College. She was retired from Geico where she worked as a Claims Supervisor. She ran an at home daycare and loved taking care of her two special grandchildren Aubrey and Cole. She was a member of Sweet Home Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; Greg Helms of Cochran; her children, Davy (Mitzi) Helms, Kyle Helms and Brittney Lewis of Cochran; grandchildren Aubrey and Cole Lewis of Cochran; her father Elder Willie (Betty Rogers) Hatfield of Cochran; her brother Jeff Hatfield of Cochran; nephews Jay (Callie) Hatfield and Scott (Kimberly Nguyen) Hatfield of Cochran and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family is at 341 Country Club Rd and will greet friends after the service Thursday.
