Obituary

Carrollton – Sherman J. Nobles, age 54, died Wednesday, January 29, 2020, in Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Twiggs County.

Sherman, born in Hawkinsville, had lived most of his life in Cochran. He was preceded in death by his father William Richard "Pete" Nobles Sr. He was a 1983 graduate of Bleckley County High School and had worked as a peanut inspector for the State of Georgia and for Asplundh. Sherman was a comedian, who never met a stranger and enjoyed cooking. He loved his mother, his companion Brenda, his family and his dog Scooby.

Survivors are his mother, Ruth White Nobles of Cochran and Woodstock; companion, Brenda Hale of Carrollton; brother William Richard "Ricky" (Annette) Nobles Jr. of Cochran; his sisters, Norphlett (Ronnie) Parker of Woodstock, Ruth Ann (Subhash) Gupta of Woodstock, Judy Ellis of Canton, Janet (Richard) Smith of Ball Ground and Amy Nobles of Canton; aunt, Joann Still of Cartersville; several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

The family will greet friends one hour before the service Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
