Sherry Barrs Hamrick, age 60, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at her residence in Eastman, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Barrs Family Cemetery in Dexter.

Born to the late Luanne Duggan Barrs and James "Jimmy" Barrs, Sherry was a woman whose vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was especially proud of her role as "Nana," often calling it her greatest joy. No matter the distance, she remained a devoted and loving presence in her grandchildren's lives.

As a mother, Sherry raised her children with unwavering love and resilience. Her strength as a single parent was matched by her compassion and humor. Known for her quick wit and playful teasing, she had a remarkable ability to bring laughter into any room. Sherry spoke her mind with confidence and stood firmly by her convictions.

Her warmth and openness made her a friend to many—she truly never met a stranger. Whether through heartfelt conversation or shared laughter, she built meaningful connections wherever she went.

Sherry is survived by her children, Nicole (Joshua) Roqueplot, Ty Hamrick, and Jessie Stewart; grandchildren, Andrea Hamrick, Reagan Hamrick, Dominic Roqueplot, and Abigail Roqueplot; brother, Gary (Lori) Barrs; former husband, Jeff Hamrick; and her cherished fur baby, Darlin'.

Sherry's memory will live on through the love she gave so freely and the joy she brought to those around her. May her legacy bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
