Eastman – Sidney Hoke "Sid" Carter, Jr., age 71, died Friday, April 15, 2022, at Dodge County Hospital in Eastman. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 11:30 A.M. in the Chapel of Mathis Funeral Home.

Sid, born in Macon, had lived most of his life in Cochran, before moving to Eastman a few years ago. He was the son of the late Sidney Hoke "Big Sid" Carter, Sr. and was preceded in death by his sister, whom he loved very much, Barbara Ann "Bobbie Ann" Carter. He was a 1968 graduate of Cochran High School and attended Middle Georgia College. He worked as an insurance salesman and was the owner-operator of Carter Marketing.

Survivors are his children, Ben (Brandi) Carter of Macon, Nick (Jadia) Carter of Enterprise, AL and Stephanie Carter of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren, Emma, Sam, Addi, Hoke and Maverick; his mother, Mary Nell Massey Carter and his friend Shirley Webb.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Rd, Macon, GA 31210.

The family will greet friends after the service Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
