Cochran – Stanley Russell Stanford, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, July 17, 2023, in Atrium Navicent Health Medical Center in Macon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Stanley was born in Moultrie, GA on January 9, 1952. He was the son of the late Rufus Wilson and Inez Knox Stanford and was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Ipock. He was a 1970 graduate of Cochran High School. Stanley worked his whole life on his family cattle farm where he looked after the farm and took great care of his parents and family. He was the most caring, selfless, humble, gentle and giving man we know and will be missed by many.

Survivors are his sister, Laverne S. Young of Cochran; his nieces, Denise Myers and Teresa (Jimmy) Dean all of Cochran; his nephew, Derek (Lea) Collins of Warner Robins; several great nieces and great nephews.

The family is at 854 Frank Cook Road, Cochran and will greet friends after the service Thursday at Mathis Funeral Home.
