Hawkinsville – Sue Pettis, age 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Sue was born on December 2, 1960, in Eastman. She was the daughter of the late Hershel L. Johnson, Sr. and Ila Mae Linder Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Pettis and her sister, Jan Johnson. Sue grew up in Dodge County. She attended Dodge County High School where she graduated a year early, so she could be with Tony as he began his service in the United States Navy. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards, listening to K-Love on the radio and going shopping at the consignment shop and Walmart.

She is survived by her daughter, Jess Pettis of Cochran; her grandchildren, Gabe Pettis, Noah Pettis, Lillie Pettis, Maely Pettis and Jake Pettis; her brother, Lee (Angela) Johnson; her son; Andy (Jessica) Pettis of Milan several nieces and nephews and her adopted children that she and Tony raised as their own.

The family is at 49 Henry Way Lane, Hawkinsville and will greet friends an hour before the service on Friday, at Mathis Funeral Home.
