Cochran – Sue Abney Smith, age 80, died Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Bryant Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith, a lifelong resident of Cochran, was the daughter of the late Jim Corbett and Ethel Brannon Abney. She was the wife of the late Dr. C.E. Smith and was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Asbell Bryan. Mrs. Sue was a bookkeeper.

Survivors are her children, Emily (Rick) Johnstone of Perry and Angela Smith of Cochran; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The family will greet friends after the service Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
