Obituary

Tammy Hearn, age 55, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, Georgia.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home in Cochran, GA. The family will greet friends after the service at Mathis Funeral Home.

Tammy was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Hollywood, Florida, where she attended McArthur High School. She was employed by the Bleckley County School System as a nutritionist at Bleckley County High School, a role she cherished. Tammy had a deep love for working with children and was known for her warm and outgoing personality. She never met a stranger and enjoyed being surrounded by people.

In addition to her love for socializing, Tammy found joy in gardening, cutting grass, traveling, camping, fishing, and cooking. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she carried her love for the Lord with her always.

Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Robert B. Felty, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Duane Hearn Sr. of Cochran; her children, Duane Hearn, II (Sarah) of Jacksonville, NC, Dale Hearn (Samantha Chancey) of Hazlehurst, and Christina Crouse of Columbus, OH; her granddaughter, Nora Hearn; her mother, Bonnie J. Marshall and her stepfather, Charles Davenport of Lake City, FL; her sister, Tracy Janosh (Joseph) of Lake City, FL; her stepsiblings, Angela Lamb and Charles Davenport; her niece, Kiara Janosh; her nephew, Keiron Felty; her aunt, Mariann Steward; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tammy's kindness and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
