A celebration of the life for Vickie Lynn Mallory Cheek will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Cochran Georgia. The celebration will be held in the church sanctuary at 2:00 p.m.

Vickie was called to heaven on April 16, 2020, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness at Navicent hospital in Macon, Georgia. Vickie was 66 years old. Vickie was born the daughter of the late Edgar Eugene Mallory and the late Betty Heath Mallory Jett on January 25, 1954. She is also preceded in death by one brother, Rickie E. Mallory and by her late step-father Edward D. Jett. She attended Griffin Georgia High School and graduated in 1972. While in high school she worked at Jim and Joe's Camera Shop and the Parkwood Cinema Theatre in her spare time. She also volunteered at the local hospital as a candy striper. She enrolled at the University of Georgia after high school graduation where she received her degree in accounting in 1977. Vickie began working with the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance as a bank examiner in October 1977. Vickie was married June 24, 1979, to Bill Cheek and was a loving wife and mother of three beautiful children. The family moved to Cochran, Georgia in 1990 where Vickie continued her community involvement as a member of the Cochran Junior Women's Club and later the Pilot Club of Cochran. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cochran, Georgia. Vickie began working with her husband in the family business on March 1, 1995, until her accident on November 5, 2019. Vickie loved her family, the Georgia Bulldogs, pilot club, traveling, auctions, covered bridges, water wheels, lighthouses, old homes, hummingbirds, 1970's music and pepe le pew.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of forty-one years Bill Cheek, her daughter Kelly Cheek of North Augusta, SC., and two sons Steven Cheek of Nashville, TN and Patrick Cheek of Macon, GA Vickie is also survived by one sister, Wanda Jean Mallory of Griffin, GA. along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Vickie's family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers of the critical care units at Navicent/Atrium Hospital for the love and attention given to Vickie during her final months. The family would also like to say how humbled and appreciative they are for the outpouring of love, care, and prayers from our neighbors and friends during this difficult season of our lives.
