Dexter - Vivian S. Clance, age 81, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 15, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery in Twiggs County.
Mrs. Clance, born in Abbeville, had lived most of her life in Gordon before moving to East Dublin 12 years ago. She was the daughter of the late James Warren and Odessa Hollingsworth Smith and was preceded in death by her husband, Jonah N. "Jack" Clance and her brothers, Jack Smith and Bill Smith. She was a homemaker and had worked at Megaw Laboratory in Milledgeville and was the head chef at Ivey General Store. Mrs. Clance enjoyed adult coloring books and she loved her family very much. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church.
Survivors are her children, Lynn (Tony) Thompson of Dexter and Mike (Kim) Dixon of Jesup; grandchildren, Bridget (Jeff) Hall, Patricia Brown, Corey Maney, Charlie Dondiego, Pennie Rojas Tiffany Clay and Shawn Clay; 29 great-grandchildren.
The family is at 1312 Hillbridge Road, Dexter and will greet friends from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M., Monday, at Mathis Funeral Home.
