Cochran – Walter Lee Garvin, III, age 69, died Monday, October 25, 2021, in Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center in Macon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Walter Lee, born in Macon, had lived most of his life in Cochran. He was the son of the late Walter Lee, Jr. and Catherine Webster Garvin. Walter Lee was retired from Robins Air Force Base and enjoyed farming. He was a 1971 graduate of Cochran High School, a graduate of Middle Georgia College and Middle Georgia Technical College. He was a Christian, a former member of Evergreen Baptist Church and member of Southside Baptist Church. Walter Lee loved his family, especially his grandsons.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley Wimberly Garvin of Cochran; his son, Lee (Kristeena) Garvin of Cochran; his grandsons, Walt and Will Garvin of Cochran; his brother, James (Traci) Garvin of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 324 Coley Station Road, Cochran and will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
