Cochran – Willard W. Johnson, age 78, died Monday, August 16, 2021, at his residence after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in Union Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be private in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
Willard, a lifelong resident of Cochran, was the son of the late Myrtice Bryant Johnson Gafford and Wade Johnson. He was a 1961 graduate of Cochran High School, attended Middle Georgia College and was a US Army Veteran. Willard was retired from the Georgia Department of Agriculture, retired bailiff from the Bleckley County Courthouse and a former Bleckley County School Board Member. He was a retired member of the Bleckley County EMA, the 1st Responders and former volunteer fireman for the Salem and Cochran Fire Departments. Willard was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Ginger Cannon Johnson of Cochran; his daughter, Brena (Brian) Siddall of McRae; his step-son, Matthew Manning of Cochran; his grandchildren, Skye Siddall and Sailee Siddall of McRae; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Waymon and Jennie Cannon of Cochran; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Ivey Woodard of Dublin and Phyllis and Larry Sanders of Chester, brother-in-law, Bo Cannon of Green Cove Springs FL; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Union Hill Baptist Church, 812 GA Highway 126 East, Cochran, GA 31014.
The family is at 205 Country Club Road, Cochran and will greet friends after the service Wednesday at Union Hill Baptist Church.
