Cochran – Rev. William M. Evans, age 61, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 1. 2020 in the Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. in the Cochran Restoration Worship Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Rev. Evans, a lifelong resident of Cochran, was the son of the late Morris and Evelyn Brady Evans. He was preceded in death by his grandson, R.J. Fordham, his brother, M.L. Evans and his sister Mae Evans Bryant. He was an evangelist and pastor for over 35 years and was the pastor at Cochran Restoration Worship Church. He was an independent insurance salesman for 16 years and a 1978 graduate of Bleckley County High School. Rev. William enjoyed fishing, loved music and was an avid musician. He would always say, "When I die, know that I am more alive today than ever before."
Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Janice D. Evans of Cochran; his children, Isaac Evans, Deena (T.J. Mullis) Evans, Jacob (Tiffany) Evans, Lilly Grace Evans of Cochran and Jennifer (Rodney) Fordham of Danville; grandchildren, Gage Fordham, Natalie Fordham, Matthew Adams, Karaline Adams, Olivia Evans, Sawyer Evans and Madison Mullis; his sister, Judy E. (Bubba) Mullis of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.
The family is at 115 Duskin Drive, Cochran and will greet friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
