Cochran – Yvonne Wright Bivins, age 88, died Monday, January 20, 2020, in Navicent Health Baldwin in Milledgeville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church in Cochran. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon City Cemetery, in Mt. Vernon, Thursday at 3:00 P.M.

Mrs. Bivins, born in Dublin, GA on September 11, 1931, had lived most of her life in Cochran. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Bremon and Eva Wells Wright. She was a 1948 graduate of Dublin High School and graduated from Georgia State College for Women in 1952 with a B.S in Home Economics and Education. Mrs. Bivins was a homemaker and assisted her husband, Dr. Blake S. Bivins, with his medical practice in Cochran for many years. She was a member of Cochran First Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Dr. Blake S. Bivins of Cochran; her children, Drake (Dr. Mary Moore) Bivins of Atlanta and Camille Bivins Smith of Milledgeville; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Andy) Davis of Atlanta, Hunter Bivins and Ethan Bivins of Newnan, Lauren Smith and Adam Smith of Milledgeville; her sisters, Patsy (Robert) Flanders of Dublin and Eugenia Brunson of Raleigh, NC.

The family is at 163 Tenth St., Cochran and will greet friends after the funeral service Thursday at Cochran First Baptist Church.
